The General Election with Holyrood

The General Election with Holyrood

As voters go to the polls in the closest fought general election in living memory, you can find top insight and analysis from Holyrood and our sister publications from Dods, the first name in political information and communication.

Our exclusive today is the third piece of analysis we've seen from Professor Richard Rose for Toscafund. This one indicates the SNP will hold the balance of power tomorrow.

Much of the attention in Scotland has been on the alternative trajectories of Scottish Labour and the SNP, but we also look at the prospects for the Scottish Conservatives and the Scottish Liberal Democrats.

We also have a guide of the most interesting challengers in Scottish seats, and also which incumbents to watch as the results come in tonight.

Deficit reduction appears to have dominated political discourse, but we look at how inequality has also been prominent in the minds of the public.

Yesterday political scientists at the Constitution Unit predicted devolution and the UK constitution would dominate proceedings after tomorrow.

You can read Holyrood editor Mandy Rhodes' take on the nature of the campaigns here, and Liam Kirkaldy's humorous take on the aftermath of the TV debates here.

Our sister site Politics Home keeps an eye on the last minute polls and paper-talk, including research which indicates outdated constituency boundaries in Scotland favour the SNP.

And over at Civil Service World, our colleagues have produced a guide to what the election will mean for the civil service.

And here some other tweets from today:

As the country prepares for the last few hours before polls close, social media's disturbing reaction to rumours of trouble at polling stations has caused much hilarity. Read our collection of the best tweets here.
