Poll: SNP set to increase majority

Survation's latest poll for the Daily Record suggests the SNP's grip on Scottish politics is showing no sign of loosening. 52 per cent of Scots intend to vote SNP in the first constituency vote in May, and 42 per cent choosing to also give the party their second vote.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is the only party leader to score well in the net favourability ratings, with a score of +27 per cent, ahead of Scottish Greens co-convener Patrick Harvie on -0.1 per cent. Scottish Conservatives leader Ruth Davidson is -6 per cent and Labour leader Kezia Dugdale on -9 per cent.

Survation also asked voters to rank which issues they feel the next Scottish government should prioritise in order of importance. Seven in ten Scots placed ‘NHS & Social Care’ in their top three out of the thirteen issues given, with 55 per cent saying ‘Economy’ and 41 per cent saying ‘The cost of living’. Interestingly, only 7 per cent of Scots ranked ‘Constitutional affairs & Independence’ in their top three.
