Three wins for Holyrood at 2020 PPA Scotland awards

Holyrood magazine has picked up three awards at the PPA Scottish Magazine Awards 2020.

Mandy Rhodes was named Editor of the Year, as well as Columnist of the Year.

And journalist Gemma Fraser was named Writer of the Year.

The Holyrood team received 13 shortlisted nominations across 10 categories, including specialist magazine of the year, sales team of the year, cover of the year, podcast of the year, designer of the year, media brand of the year and best initiative in response to COVID-19.

Winners were announced in an online ceremony on Thursday 3 December.

Mandy Rhodes, MD of Holyrood Communications and editor of Holyrood magazine, said: “I am absolutely delighted that in what has been a pretty dark and dismal year for so many, that everyone at Holyrood has pulled together to continue producing excellent, and now award-winning, editorial content.

“I was thrilled by the number of shortlisted nominations we had from across the whole team in sales, design and editorial and I am particularly proud of Gemma for winning Writer of the Year. Gemma tackles really complex issues with great sensitivity and flair and the award is so well deserved.

“I am obviously very excited personally to have won Columnist of the Year and Editor of the Year. Every good editor has a strong team behind them and I have the best.”
