Shortlist announced for Scottish Public Service Awards 2021
The shortlist for the 2021 Scottish Public Service Awards has been announced, with 37 nominations across 12 categories.
The winners will be revealed at a ceremony at the Scottish Parliament on 8 December, co-hosted by Presiding Officer Alison Johnstone and Deputy First Minister John Swinney.
The awards, held by Holyrood in partnership with the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government, recognise the contributions of Scotland’s broad public sector.
In addition, a Lifetime Achievement Award will be announced on the evening, recognising an individual who has made a significant contribution to Scottish public service over a sustained period of time.
Mandy Rhodes, Managing Director of Holyrood Communications and one of the judges said: “It never fails to amaze the panel of judges for these awards, the truly extraordinary work that goes on within our communities delivering outstanding public services, be that by individuals showing real leadership or by the efforts of a dedicated team of professionals or volunteers, and what they all have in common is a dedication to making life better for others.
"During the last 18 months, that true spirit of community, that sense of ‘we are all in this together’, has resulted in some remarkable examples of ingenuity, innovation and inspiration. As the saying goes, where there is a will, there is a way, and all those nominated in this year’s awards shared in that determination to deliver for others, and whether they were shortlisted or not, they should be applauded as ‘winners’.
"Our thanks to all who entered the awards this year and to those who made it onto the shortlists, congratulations and good luck on the night.”
