Scottish Parliament covered in red paint as activists protest against cost of living
Members of the group This Is Rigged have sprayed red paint over the entrance to the Scottish Parliament in protest over food prices.
The group used fire extinguishers to spray paint over the public entrance of the parliament, writing messages including, “Let us Eat”.
A similar protest last year by the group, which has also repeatedly disrupted First Minister’s Questions, caused £6,000 worth of damage.
The group said it was carrying out the action in protest over the cost of baby formula and other foodstuffs.
A Scottish Parliament spokesperson said: “Criminal damage to the parliament is a matter for Police Scotland.”
Police Scotland said three people had been arrested in connection with the incident.
