Richard Lochhead recovering in intensive care after major surgery
Richard Lochhead is recovering in intensive care at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after receiving major surgery.
The business minister had taken unwell last week and was admitted to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin but was transferred to Aberdeen at the weekend to undergo major surgery.
He is now in a stable condition after some initial complications.
Lochhead and his family commended the “compassion, dedication, and skill of clinicians” at both hospitals.
His parliamentary office expressed “deep gratitude” to the NHS staff that have been involved in Lochhead’s care.
His office said: “Richard and his family have been touched by the many well wishes they’ve received. As he focuses on his recovery, we would ask that those wishing to reach out continue to do so via his constituency office.
“We continue to work on constituency casework on Richard’s behalf whole he takes the time to get well.”
