Richard Holden appointed Conservative party chair
Richard Holden has been appointed as the Chair of the Conservative Party without portfolio.
Replacing Greg Hands, who held the role since February, Holden becomes the sixth chair since June 2022.
The appointment follows a string of high-profile hirings and firings today during a major cabinet reshuffle undertaken by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, which was sparked by the sacking of former home secretary Suella Braverman.
This morning Sunak welcomed former prime minister David Cameron into his cabinet as foreign secretary. James Cleverly has been appointed home secretary, while Vicky Atkins has been promoted to health secretary.
Earlier this afternoon, Thérèse Coffey resigned as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, while No10 confirmed that Jeremy Hunt will remain as chancellor.
