Public sector workers to be given cyber resilience toolkit to better help business

Public sector workers to be given cyber resilience toolkit to better help business

Staff working in a number of public sector bodies will have access to a new information resource to promote cyber resilience within the business community as part of a new project.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has been tasked with designing and developing a cyber resilience toolkit and delivering workshops across the business support network north of the border.

The contract, which will run for 18 months with a possible extension to March 2017, was awarded by Scottish Enterprise on behalf of the Digital Scotland Business Excellence Partnership.

The partnership includes the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Skills Development Scotland, Business Gateway, COSLA as well as Scottish Development International.

In effect, the toolkit is intended to raise awareness of company facing staff who can then pass on that knowledge to client companies.

The toolkit will provide information on key facts and support available for companies to get the basics of cyber resilience right. .

PwC has been asked to review existing information made available to companies on cyber resilience and come up with a short information resource capturing key lessons.

Twenty workshops will then be held both online and face to face as part of efforts to ensure those offering support to Scottish businesses are best placed to do so.

The procurement comes after the Scottish Government last year published its long-awaited cyber resilience strategy.
