mygov.scot inherits business support information
The development of a single website for all public services in Scotland has taken a major step forward with the migration of business service and support information.
The Scottish Business Portal, which pulled together content from the likes of Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise and Skills Development Scotland, has been shut down and its content and tools moved to mygov.scot.
In 2012, the Scottish Government set out its intention to deliver a “single – but not exclusive – point of entry to all digital public services at national and local level”.

The mygov.scot team is working with over 160 organisations to deliver both their information and transactional services online.
An interactive tool to calculate business rates – previously hosted on the Scottish Business Portal – has been optimised for tablet and mboile use while direct access to relevant council website pages is now provided.
Head of content Rachel Dowle said: “Our next phase of work will focus on the experience of business users looking to export.
“This will allow us to further implement our content strategy which puts users before organisations and services, with a clear focus on journeys and tasks to develop our understanding of complex needs.
“We are collaborating with key partners across the business sector to understand the landscape of existing services, who their users are and to share outputs such as user research.
“We are also continuing our work with UK Government’s Digital Service (GDS) to improve the journey between devolved and reserved services.”
