Michael Gove sacked in cabinet reshuffle
Michael Gove has been sacked as justice secretary in Theresa May’s sweeping cabinet reshuffle.
New Prime Minister May is understood to have informed Gove of the move just a week after the arch Eurosceptic was eliminated from the Tory leadership contest.
The Scot served as education secretary and Tory chief whip in the last parliament, before being handed the justice brief after last year’s general election.

Boris Johnson appointed foreign secretary
May had been widely expected to axe Gove, who was one of the leaders of the Brexit campaign.
Downing Street refused to comment while Gove, who was born in Edinburgh and educated in Aberdeen, has also made no public statement.
However, Gove did earlier post this message on social media site Twitter:
Gove, the MP for Surrey Heath, had been expected to back newly appointed foreign secretary Boris Johnson in the Tory leadership contest, but dramatically launched his own bid to succeed Cameron.
