Man charged over alleged threat made to Joanna Cherry
A man has been charged in connection with an alleged threat made to SNP MP Joanna Cherry.
The politician reported the matter to police on Monday - the same day she was sacked from her role on the party's frontbench.
Officers have since confirmed a 30-year-old man has been charged in relation to a communications offence.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Cherry, who represents Edinburgh South West, thanked police for their "swift action" in a tweet this morning.
