Regarded as a left-wing firebrand, the Lothians MSP takes a prominent role in scrutinising the Scottish Government’s health legislation during the parliamentary session.

Findlay was shadow health secretary in 2014 before standing for the Scottish Labour leadership in the contest which selected Jim Murphy. He is a key ally of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn north of the border.
