Finding and nurturing world class entrepreneurs.

What has been the most rewarding piece of work you've undertaken?

Building CodeBase to be the largest tech incubator in the UK.

How can Scotland bridge the digital skills gap?

There is no silver bullet, but a mix of promoting digital skills and digital literacy in our education system, an open door to foreign talent (visa reform), and connecting high growth start-ups with each other to learn best practise by peer learning.

Which new technology excites you the most?

Whilst it is not a new technology, Machine Learning advances represent a massive opportunity to transform business and society in areas as diverse as medicine, energy, education and government services.

What's your favourite app and why?

Pocket is an app that I couldn't live without.  The ability to rapidly tag and collate information and articles is a lifesaver for me as I try to understand modern technological breakthroughs.

What, for you, will 2016 be the year of from a technology/digital standpoint?

2016 will be the year of artificial intelligence in business.
