Connect Tech 100 launched

Our rundown of the top 100 players who will lead Scotland’s digital transformation in 2017 has been launched today.

Over the next 16 weeks, Connect will provide interviews with and comment pieces from those who feature in our annual Tech 100, which is being done in association with NetApp.

Each Monday will see an interview with a key figure driving the digital agenda in Scotland, offering an insight into what they are working on and the challenges they envisage.

On a Wednesday we'll bring you a comment piece as those individuals featured offer their take on the pressing issues of the day. And on a Friday we'll have a roundup of five key people at the forefront of their sector. 

First up is Martyn Wallace, chief digital officer for the Scotland's newly created local government digital office, who discusses what he sees in store for local authorities just a few weeks into the new post.  

The Tech 100 list is not comprehensive and strictly not scientific, instead a snapshot of people in each sector.

But it gives an insight into how strategically important technology is now in learning, in public service delivery and in growing the Scottish economy.
