Brexit is a 'catastrophe', says former David Davis adviser

Brexit is a “catastrophe” and “sensible” MPs should form a new party to reverse it, a former adviser to George Osborne and David Davis has said.
In reference to the new party, James Chapman singled out pro-European Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat MPs such as Chuka Umunna, Sir Vince Cable, Anna Soubry, Nicky Morgan and Nicholas Soames.
The former Daily Mail journalist also said it was “well past time” for “sensible journos” on Brexit-supporting newspapers to admit leaving the bloc will “destroy lives of many of their readers”.

Chapman was Osborne's director of communications before the EU referendum, and then went on to become Mr Davis's chief of staff. He is now a partner with PR firm Bell Pottinger.
Previously, he said Theresa May's inflexibility has "hamstrung" the UK's attempts to get a good Brexit deal.
In a separate attack, the former aide also said Andrea Leadsom was the “dimmest bulb” in Theresa May’s Cabinet.
In a string of tweets last night, the former top aide said: “Past time for sensible MPs in all parties to admit Brexit is a catastrophe, come together In new party if need be, and reverse it.”
Chapman later tweeted he had received endorsement from different sides.
"Lots of messages from VERY interesting people wanting to be involved in new party, the Democrats. Let's do this people," he said.
He also suggested some newspaper editors had supported leaving the EU as a way of exacting revenge on David Cameron over the Leveson Inquiry into the press.
