Sue Webber: 'I used to have the biggest crush ever on David Soul'
What was the first record that you ever bought?
Making Waves by The Nolans. I remember dancing to it all the time with my little sister.
What record would always get you on the dance floor?
There's a couple of songs that take me back to hockey tour but The Club Can't Handle Me by Flo Rida is the song that would do it for me. As soon as that comes on I remember Club Sanuk in Blackpool. It was just some crazy times with some fabulous friends.
What is your karaoke song?
I've actually got a bit of an ensemble. Mustang Sally because I've got a nice gravelly voice. I also quite like singing a bit of Spandau Ballet’s Gold and of Take Me Home, Country Roads.
So, do you sing often?
Karaoke now is not like it used to be. There was this bar on Thistle Street, which used to do karaoke every Saturday night, and I’d be there with the hockey girls, again, and we'd all be singing. But I will never go to a karaoke cube.
What song do you want played at your funeral?
Raise Your Glass by Pink.
Did you go and see her perform in Glasgow?
No, when she came to Glasgow in June, we got told we were going to have an anniversary thing for parliament and to keep the date free. So, I didn't try to get tickets, and then the event was cancelled because of the general election.
What song is guaranteed to make you cry?
Anything will make me cry, if I feel it.
What music would you always associate with your childhood?
There is lots of stuff, but I used to have the biggest crush ever on David Soul. And, what I loved the most was when he did a cameo driving a car in the film Filth, singing Silver Lady.
What record do you hate, but can't get out of your head?
I cannot stand The Proclaimers' 500 Miles. If it's on, I leave the room.
What record would you be embarrassed to owning up to having in your collection?
Well, the thing is that some of the stuff you might have been embarrassed about 10 years ago is coming back into fashion now. I do have St. Winifred's School Choir somewhere, but I I'm not embarrassed by any of them because someone somewhere will love that song like you love it.
What was the last band you went to see?
I went to see Crowded House at the Hydro.
What song do you associate with your political wins?
The Champion by Carrie Underwood.
